I had other plans for the last couple of days of Blogmas but don’t seem to have found the time to write them, so instead I am going to do the Shuffle Music Tag today, which the brilliant Lauren tagged me in! I really love Lauren’s lifestyle blog, which ranges from fun tag posts to helpful posts about managing stress and anxiety. Go check her out if you haven’t already! Onto the tag…
The Rules:
- Mention the person who has nominated you and link their blog.
- Shuffle your entire music library, no matter how old or weird the songs, list the first 15 songs that play, along with the artists they’re by.
- Comment on the song if you have any stories or memories behind it.
- Tag 7 or more bloggers to join in.
My songs:
- Aquaman – Walk The Moon
I used to listen to this song every day before school as I tried to drag myself out of bed. Still one of my favourite songs by this band, and I was lucky enough to see them live last year. - Many of Horror – Biffy Clyro
Not really a band I listen to much, but they made it into my songs because I went to a festival they headlined one night, and so I tried to get into their music before I went. - Where Did The Love Go – Bipolar Sunshine
- Best Friend – Rex Orange County
My mum heard this song on the radio and thought I’d like it, so we spent the next few days listening out for it to see if we could find out who it was. - Ooh La – The Kooks
Now this is a band I adore, and recently got to see live in my (and their) hometown, Brighton. - Face Like Thunder – The Japanese House
I quite like The Japanese House, but have never been an avid listener. I think they’re in my music library because they were the supporting band when I went to see The 1975. - Reach – S Club 7
Probably my favourite band from my childhood, listening to any of their songs makes me nostalgic. - Wake Me Up – Ed Sheeran
I’ve been an Ed Sheeran fan for a pretty long time and have been fortunate enough to see him play live several times, the most memorable being at Wembley Stadium which has a capacity of 90,000. - Wolves – Kanye West
A few Kanye songs have crept into my music library this year, courtesy of my boyfriend’s music influence. - Lonely World – The Vaccines
Another band I absolutely love – I associate this band with happy memories spent with my mum. Together we have seen The Vaccines live more times than any other artist I’ve seen (I think 6 times?). - Ocean – Native
- Fallingforyou – The 1975
The 1975 is one of my all time favourite groups, I love their lyrics and general sound and feel like they do a great job connecting to their audience. - Teenage Dirtbag – Wheatus
My favourite one-hit wonder song, such a classic. - Neon – John Mayer
I find John Mayer’s voice so relaxing, and he’s a very talented guitarist, I’d love to see him live one day. - I’ll Be There – The Jackson 5
When I lived in Sydney, I worked in a cafe and became pretty close to another girl working there; whenever we had to close the cafe alone, we’d turn up songs by The Jackson 5, Abba and Whitney Houston and practically have a karaoke session as we cleaned.
